Deerfield’s Grand Bruit (SOLD)
Born: 25 May 2010
Sire: Beothic’s Blueberry (#361B) (black)
Dam: Ginger of Lawn (#605) (chestnut)
An excellent riding, driving or breeding prospect, Bruit is a handsome colt who will be dark bay or black brown once he sheds out his baby coat. He should finish around 13.2 hh.
Grand Bruit is named after a community on Newfoundland’s southwest coast whose 30 residents are being resettled to a larger centre in June 2010.
Founded in the 1800s, Grand Bruit means "great noise" in French. The town got its name from the roaring waterfall that cuts a path through this tiny community. Families living in Grand Bruit’s well-protected harbour benefited from the abundant resources in nearby fishing grounds and vow to continue to fish there, even after they are resettled.
